Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is a complex, multi-system illness caused by prolonged exposure to biotoxins, most commonly from mold found in water-damaged buildings. It leads to persistent inflammation and a wide range of symptoms, including but not limited to fatigue, cognitive difficulties, muscle pain, and respiratory issues. CIRS is believed to result from a dysregulated immune response in individuals who are genetically susceptible, preventing them from properly clearing these toxins.
